Rumors are a favorite discussion topic for gaming enthusiasts across the board. From scouring the latest posts on Reddit and ResetERA, to combing through tweet after tweet on Twitter, gamers thrive on the latest rumors in hopes of getting a glimpse of the next big announcement or reveal. What we aim to achieve every Friday here on Level Down Games is to provide a collective source of every rumor we stumbled upon over the last five days, all in one place. Do you have a tip or rumor that should be featured on next week’s Rumor Review? Shoot us an email and we’ll take it from there.

Disclaimer: Rumors are exactly that.. rumors. What you are about to read has not been verified through any official channels or sources. These are claims that have been picked up on message boards and social media accounts that may or may not be factual. We do not stand by any of the following rumors as official, and the Rumor Review should be viewed as strictly “for fun” unless otherwise noted.

Next Generation Arriving A Bit Earlier? – Undoubtedly by now, you’ve all seen the delays of both Marvel’s Avengers and Cyberpunk 2077 to early-and-mid-September, respectively. We picked up on a juicy rumor that perhaps a reason both of these titles were delayed to around this time frame is that both Sony and Microsoft might be preparing to release the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in September, as opposed to November which was the original thought. CD Projekt Red has stated that there are no plans for a next gen version of Cyberpunk at this time, but that’s just the kind of statement a company would make before an official announcement takes place. Who knows if there’s any truth to this rumor.. but it’s fun to think about for sure!

Horizons Are Expanding – Kotaku’s Jason Schreier says that he has been informed by three anonymous sources “familiar with Sony’s plans” that Horizon: Zero Dawn, the PlayStation 4 exclusive from Guerrilla Games that released in 2017, is apparently coming to PC very soon. No release date was mentioned, but the report does mention that the game would arrive on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. This would be the latest title from Sony to hit PC, after all of Quantic Dreams’ games and Death Stranding, which is set to arrive later in 2020. Could this be a sign of a new initiative within Sony to keep releasing console exclusive games on PC? Time will tell!

Arise for this Tale – The Korean Ratings Board has rated Tales of Arise, the latest Tales game coming from Bandai Namco to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. This could mean that a release date is a hell of a lot closer than we anticipated, especially because the rating also includes an Age Rating, which is generally a step the ratings board takes when the game is close to release. We can only hope and pray this one arrives sooner rather than later because we cannot wait for this one.

The Order Returns – Remember The Order: 1886? The PlayStation 4 exclusive that launched back in February 2015 to mixed reviews because of its length and general gameplay issues? Well, a new leak over on NeoGAF from a user by the name of OsirisBlack could be pointing to the fact that a sequel to the game, developed by Ready At Dawn, might be arriving on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X sometime after the launch of each console. Would we welcome a sequel to The Order? Sure.. but let’s hope it has a bit more to it this time around.

We’ll be back next Friday with another Rumor Review. Remember to send us any tips or rumors you hear on our rumor hotline!
